what are microgreens?
Microgreens are plant foods harvested in the very early stages of plant growth, from 10 to 21 days after germination, depending on seed variety. They have higher levels of vital nutrients than their full-grown counterparts. Backyard Produce is growing all year.

Customers looking for specific items and quantities can contact Terry to schedule a Lawrence or Kansas City area delivery or greenhouse pick-up. A Kansas native, Terry has worked with Lawrence restaurants and local farmers for over 25 years. Terry began construction of the greenhouse facilities in 2007, and today, Backyard Produce includes over 2000 sq. ft. of traditional and hydroponic systems which grow micro and petite greens all year-round. Terry strives to create partnerships with other area farmers to provide customers with more local produce options during weekly deliveries to the Kansas City area. When he’s not seeding and cutting in the greenhouse, you can find Terry making local deliveries or vending at the Lawrence Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings.

You can find us at the Lawrence Farmer’s Market most Saturday mornings during market season and at the Holiday Farmer’s Market in early December. Market items include fresh cut mixed Microgreens, Seasonal Tomatoes, Pesto (Basil or Arugula), Terry’s Salad Toppings (Caramelized Garlic and Assorted Nuts & Fruits), and Black Tomato Salsa.

free delivery and pickup
Deliveries are free in Lawrence and are completed as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours of initial request. You can also pick up at our greenhouse in North Lawrence at your convenience. Kansas City area deliveries are made weekly for established customers. Complete your order online or contact Terry to set up a customer account.
